Christmas is that time of the year when the entire house is decorated with embellishments to denote the celebratory mood on the pious occasion of birth of Jesus Christ. Though the decorations are more focused towards the living room where the Christmas tree is commonly placed, the other areas of the house should also be decorated to match and add to the feeling of Christmas. Though, the other rooms of the house do not demand elaborate decoration plans, there are simple ways in which other rooms of the house can be decorated. - Before you start decorations, plan a theme for decoration. There are many different themes to select from. Some of the common Christmas themes include Color theme, where there is a prominent use of a color or group of colors. Snow White, Heart red and Evergreen are popular Christmas colors that are used for decoration. Golden and Silver color are also used as they represent celebrations. It is advisable that the theme of the kitchen is in sync with the theme of the entire house.
- The most important part of the kitchen that can be decorated well is the kitchen table. You can place a nice table cloth with decorative print. Specially designed Christmas table cloths are also available in the market. Along with table cloth you can go for Christmas themed table mats. The right table cloth with table mat makes it easy for other decorations to blend into one theme as table cloth is probably the largest piece of decoration in the kitchen.
- Once the table cloth is finalized, you can have decorative items placed in the centre of the kitchen table. Depending on the size of the table, you can go for a large vase with artificial or natural flowers. You can also place a small Christmas tree on the table and then decorate the tree with ornaments etc. You can also decorate the table with a nice crystal. You can fill the crystal with water and float flowers or petals in the crystal. Large decorative candle can also be used as the centerpiece for the table. In order to highlight the decorations, the color of the centerpiece should be in contrast to the color of the tablecloth.

- You can also decorate your refrigerator with ornaments, bells, hanging wreaths or garlands. As the refrigerator is the most used object in the kitchen, care should be taken that decorative items used on the door of the refrigerator are properly fixed.
- If there is a window in the kitchen, garlands can be used to decorate it. Ribbons are also commonly used for decorating windows.
- The kitchen should be properly lighted and for decorations, colorful lights can also be used to decorate the kitchen. You can use directional lights to highlight the table and other decorations.
- In addition to the decorations, the kitchen should also smell good. It is always a good idea to use a nice perfume or spray in the kitchen to give it a refreshing smell. You can also use fresh flowers to get the desired scent in the kitchen.
- The kitchen door can be decorated with garland or hanging wreaths. Multiple wreaths can be used from top of the door to bottom of the door. As kitchen door is always kept open, you can decorate only the front of the door and ignore the backside. You can also use ornaments and bells to decorate the door.
